Representation of women in Print adverts of Drinks...

1)Ty.phoon Tea Advert...

This advert represents a woman, holding a tray of teacups. She is about to serve the tea, guessing from the number of cups, to herself and her husband. This is probably an advert of the 20th century because her dressing comes from that time and women of that times were under their husbands. A pack shot is seen at the left-bottom to show the product to audience; married women are the targeted audience.

2) 7up advert...

This advert features two women who act in a drama serial which is telecast at 10.15a.m . Hence, it says a good refresher at 10.15 which means that this print advertises both the product and the show. The middle aged women (who are the targeted audience) are convinced that the product is refreshing from the look on their faces. The two-man shot is enclosed by a pack shot of the product with its slogan.

3)Pepsi cola- Light...

The advert features a young couple having fun at the park with a drink of Pepsi Light. As the name of the product says, 'Light', the advert states that it does not fills up one's stomach and can be so refreshing. The couple are shown with thin waists to make the audience believe that the product does not make them fat. Instead of the pack-shot of the entire product, only the Lid of the bottle is shown, to mark it a Cola product.

4)Chase & Sanborn coffee...

This advert is one of those which show women completely inferior to men. The picture shows women how they would be treated by their husbands if they knew that the product would taste fresher than other coffees. It uses technical terms at the bottom, to convince the audience that well-known people have manufactured and suggest the product. The pack shot of the product is seen at the bottom of the advert.

5)Diet Pepsi...

The advert features the popular model, Sofia Vergara, as an endorsement. She is shown as drinking and enjoying the product, which makes the audience (Young women) to believe that they might become like her if they drink Diet pepsi. She wears her costume and even Lipstick in the code colours of Pepsi (blue and red). As like every other advert, the pack-shot of the product is seen at the bottom.

6) Pepsi- skinny can....

This advert was mainly released to show the audience, the change in the packing of Pepsi. It features a woman drinking from the pack shot of the product; the slogan says 'skinny' which implies the features of the woman too. The slogan is printed in vertical manner to make audience feel that it is a skinny feature too. As like the previous advert, the costume and accessories of the woman matches with that of the product. The advert makes audience to believe that the would become skinny if they drink from the skinny can.
